Picture Mill and director Randall Wallace strove to capture the dangerous power of Secretariat himself with this strong, elegant title card, featuring a shadowy image of the champion racehorse. This theme is continued at the end of the film, which uses footage of the actual Secretariat as the backdrop for the film's epilogue.
